Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about SkyV Radio
Submitting Music
What audio formats do you accept?
We only accept WAV, OGG, or AIFF files. We do not accept MP3.
Here's why: MP3 is already a compressed format. When your music is broadcast on our radio stream, it gets compressed again for transmission. That double compression degrades the audio quality, and we refuse to compromise on sound. We pride ourselves on having one of the clearest and crispest radio connections you'll find for free — and we intend to keep it that way. By starting with an uncompressed or lossless source file, your music sounds its best when it reaches our listeners.
How do I submit my music?
Head over to the submission page, choose a package, upload your track as a WAV, OGG, or AIFF file along with your cover art, and pay the submission fee (starting at $1). Our curating team will review your submission and notify you once it's approved or denied.
How much does it cost to submit?
Submissions start at just $1. The price varies depending on the package you choose — single tracks cost less, while multi-track releases are priced accordingly. If you have a coupon code, you may even be able to submit for free.
Can I submit multiple tracks?
Yes. Our multi-track packages allow you to submit several songs as a release group. This is perfect for EPs, albums, or mixtapes where tracks belong together. Each package shows how many tracks it includes.
What happens after I submit?
Your submission enters our curation queue. An admin will review your track for audio quality and content. If approved, it gets added to our All Access Underground Music rotation on AzuraCast and broadcast to our listeners. If denied, you'll receive feedback from our team. Check your dashboard for the latest status.
How long does the review process take?
Review times vary depending on the volume of submissions, but we typically respond within a few days. You'll receive an email notification when your submission has been reviewed.
Listening & Streaming
How do I listen to SkyV Radio?
You can listen directly on our website using the built-in web player. We also offer HLS streaming for adaptive bitrate playback and a standard MP3 stream that works with most media players. Check our services page for direct stream URLs and playlist files.
What bitrate do you stream at?
Our main channel streams at up to 256kbps OPUS, delivering crystal-clear audio. We also offer adaptive bitrate options ranging from 48kbps to 256kbps to accommodate different connection speeds while maintaining the best possible quality.
Can I request songs?
Yes! If you have an account, you can request songs directly from the player. You can also upvote or downvote the currently playing track to help shape what gets played next.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet, but our website is fully responsive and works great on mobile browsers. An iOS and Android app is on our roadmap.
Account & Technical
Do I need an account to listen?
No. Anyone can listen to SkyV Radio without an account. Creating a free account lets you vote on songs, request tracks, view your listening history, and submit your own music.
Why does my listening history only show songs I heard while the player was active?
We only track songs when you're actively listening through our player. This ensures your listening history reflects what you actually heard, not everything that played on the station while you were away.
How do I reset my password?
Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. You'll receive a password reset link via email.
How can I report a glitch or issue?
Use our glitch report system to submit a detailed report. Select the category that best describes the issue, include a description of what happened, and optionally the page URL. Our team reviews every submission and works to resolve it.
